Forwarded herewith are the statistics for the Personnel Security and Investigations Directorate (PSI) for the month of June 1975. a. Total Clearance Division receipts for June 1975 decreased by 164 cases as compared to May 1975 (1600-1764); field receipts decreased by only 11 cases (679-690). Total completions for June decreased by 90 cases as compared to May (1781-1871); field completions also decreased by 62 cases (709-771). Total pending cases for June were down 181 cases as compared to May (2543-2724); field pending cases were also down 30 cases (1403-1433). b. Figures concerning covert receipt cases for June showed a decrease of 18 cases as com- pared to May (708-726). The pending SAA's for June increased by only one case as compared to May (500-499). ISS & IST receipts for June decreased by 81 cases as compared to May (252- 333); completions increased by 39 cases (375-336). Pending ISS & IST cases for June were down 123 cases as compared to May (623-746). c. June receipts for reinvestigations in- creased by 34 cases as compared to May (36-2). Reinvestigation completions for June decreased by 56 cases as compared to May (27-83). Pending reinvestigations for June were up 9 cases as compared to May (212-203). Reinvestigation repolygraph examinations were begun with testing of all Branch personnel. When this series was completed, beginning with the Director of Security, testing of all senior Security officials GS-15 and above was initiated. As of the end of the reporting period, 28% of such officers had been tested. Examinations will continue during July until this phase of the repolygraph program is completed. .3. Highlights for the period included: 25X1A a. reported three significant cases: (1) a staff applicant previously approached by the Intelli- gence Service; no in ication of accept- ance by the applicant; (2) a contractor's employee known to have previous Soviet Intelligence Service contacts; no indication of hos- tile control; (3) a staff applicant actively trafficking in the sale of marijuana; the applicant withdrew his application for employment. 25X1A b.
