Approved For Release-,4000/05/31 : CIA-RDP83B00823R00050 0003-7 INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY GROUP SUMMARY REPORT - JULY 1975 HIGHLIGHTS 1. Representatives of the Information Systems Security Group attended a Data Communications Exchange (DATEX) briefing conducted by the Office of Communications. This involved a short history of the growth and development of the DATACOM Center, and a general overview of the message switching system which receives and sends data from various locations in the United States. The concern was the inter- face of this system with OJCS systems and the possible spillage of CIA data to other member agencies of the communications network. 2. Four members of the Information Systems Securit Group attended a conference on computer security at 25X1A Inc., McLean, Va., on 16 July. The current state of th art of computer security was discussed, and information of value was exchanged among the participants. 3. Three members of Information Systems Security Group attended a three-day session on computer security sponsored by the National Security Agency. This conference/ seminar consisted of a series of briefings by representatives of various Department of Defense components and guest lecturers from private industry. Members of the Intelligence Community were afforded an overview of computer security measures existing in large DOD computer systems. 4.
