I. In tie course of our review of the Headquarters
STATINTL Regulations _ Series for purposes of up lie
Office of Security has determined that HR CIA STATINTL
Emergency Planning and Implementation, is completely
out of date and no longer needed. It is requested that
you take appropriate action to rescind this regulation.
2. For your information the function of CIA
emergency preparedness planning is now assigned to
the CIA Operations Center. We have coordinated the
proposed rescission of this regulat that component.
The Operation.; Center agrees that 11 should be STATINTL
rescinded and will be proposing in the future an amendment
to the Headquarters regulations concerning its role
and responsibilities in the emergency preparedness
area. Changes in the approach to this vital subject
indicate that these amendments will be substantially
different frog: the contents of extant regulation and STATINT
suggest that the new policy shout placed elsewhere STAT
