Dick,
I think it is great, as I mentioned a few days
ago, that you have been able to take the lead in the
latest discussions of the I&W machinery. Please let
me know if you need any help in any way in the current
project. I have been out of the I&W business for
three years, so I am not at all up to date on many of
the current approaches. I nevertheless do have a few
thoughts on the matter, and will jot them down
separately and send them to you soon.
More important, I want to make sure that you
know that I still do have some of the old studies and
what remains of the INDICO files, so if you want any
of them, let me know and I wiwi-ltry to find them.
The principal ones that I still have are:
1. Your 1972 NIOC study, which you borrowed
last year.
2. Our basic study recommending establish-
ment of SWS, June 74.
3. The March 73 eport.
4. IDA Study on the Watch Committee/
NIC, July 6 .
5. My study for the DCI on Crisis Management,
6. Files of the old SWWG that I land I
served on, and the more recent (and inactive SWRG.
7. Various files of other I&W approaches,
Watch Committee material, Indicator lists, DCID's,
briefings, etc.
All of this is contained in about six safe drawers
of material in my office; five more drawers went to

much more is at SWS, and more has been
tossed. One of my tasks, now that I have finished
the 150-page Field Support and Foreign Liaison Hand-
book (which was a big priority for us), is to sort
out this scattered i&W material, put it in better
order, salvage some for whatever office may inherit
it here, send some t
and destroy more.

I have a loose inventory o a these files if you
want to glance at it, or have time to do so.
If you want, I can retrieve the copy of the
Handbook from you, since you have so much on your
platter now that is more pressing.
