Several of the readers of RONI have
indicated their interest in the backgrounds
of those who are actually reviewing national
intelligence. I think it would be a mistake
to identify (and give brief biographic treat-
ment to) each of our officers, but it would
probably be a good idea to make some
sort of statement about PRD's qualifications
for this kind of work. Consequently, we
did a little survey, and I have drafted the
attached for inclusion in the next issue of
RONI. I think you will be interested.

All area and topical reviewers are staff members of the
Product Review Division of IC Staff. All but one have had at
least eight years profeasioiial experience in intelligence; four
officers have had more than 23 yeas experience each; the 13
officers of the Division together have had a total of some 192
years of experience. Academically, the Division can count
12 bachelors degrees, 7 Masters, and 3 doctorates, awarded
by a host of diverse institutions (Notre Dame, Brown, the
Naval Academy, Oxford, Johns Hopkins, South Carolina,
Cornell, etc. ).
As is appropriate for a Community enterprise, PRD
officers currently in place have joined the IC Staff from DIA,
NSA, the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps intelligence
organizations, and from three Directorates (DDI, DDS&T, DDC)
and the E Career Service of CIA.
