SECRET Approved For Release 2005/03/P83MOO171R000400050001-8 24 July 79 MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Central Intelligence VIA: Deputy Director of Central Intelligence FROM: Deputy to the DCI for Resource Management SUBJECT: Programmatic Implications of the RMS Study of Intelligence Support to Air-Land Forces 1. This memo summarizes the programmatic implications of the Air-Land Study in order to incorporate them into the program review decision process. The study is being revised to accommodate reviewer's comments and will be provided to you on Monday, 30 July 1979. The study finds that the key issues in providing increased intelligence support to the air-land forces are survivability, dissemination architecture and communications, and allied access (which was not addressed in detail). We are planning follow-on work in all areas including access. The programs and issues that are affected by the study conclusions are discussed below; we have identified those cases where the issue has been addressed in a separate Issue Paper for the FY 81 Program Review. 0 2.
