SUBJECT: Rescheduling of HPSCI Budget Review
HPSCI was obliged to move up its schedule for reviewing CIA budget proposals.
According to Jim Bush, the review of Covert Action budget proposals by
HPSCI has thus been changed from its previous date of 20 April and will
HPSCI staffer Jim Bush informed John McMahon on 17 February that the
Senate Armed Services Committee has taken measures recently to accelerate
FY83 Budget consideration. In order to meet updated review requirements,
now be held, as an extension of the CIAP review, on 22 March. HPSCI
realizes this causes a crowded schedule for that date and some subsequent
adjustment, may be necessary.
