SUBJECT: Human Subjects Research
1. Action Requested: That you approve the recommendation in
paragraph 3 below for a senior officer in DDI to be responsible
for reviewing proposed projects and activities for possible human
subject research implications.
2. Background. Executive Order 12333 charges the Agency
with responsibility for conducting human research under Health
and Human Services (HHS) guidelines. The DDI officer nominated
in paragraph 3 below serves a similar function for
tal and is thoroughly familiar with HHS guidelines
