BOARD
Admiral Bobby R. Inman, USN
Deputy Director
Central Intelligence Agency
Washington, D.C. 20505
30 April 1982
I was pleased to learn about your sponsorship of a collogium
on military, intelligence, and civil missions in space
during the next 20 years. That is, in my opinion, a subject
area from which the United States could derive exceptional
payoff--providing we do not delay in focusing the proper
attention.
I am happy to accept your invitation to moderate the session
on Future Military Missions in Space. Unfortunately, I will
be unable to attend the remaining sessions because of conflicts
with long-standing commitments. I was told this would be
agreeable to you.
I applaud your initiative with this undertaking, and encourage
your continued leadership in this important area.
