Dear Ambassador Buchheim:
I am writing to explore with you our interest in having you speak
during an upcoming colloquium on the future uses of space for civil,
military, and other purposes. This colloquium will be held here at CIA
on 3 and 4 June of this year. The sponsors are Admiral Inman, Dr. Keywort
Dr. Mark, and Dr. DeLauer. Some informal background information is
attached.
The broad subject intended for your talk would be the interaction
in the 1990s between space systems and arms control activities. Knowing
of your great experience in both subjects, I would expect that, the
participants would find your views enlightening and stimulating.
I also am interested in your knowing that a dinner is scheduled for
the evening of 3 June. We would be pleased, of course, if you would agree
to atte,id the dinner as well.
If you are able to participate in this colloquium, as I hope you-
will agree to do, a formal letter of invitation will be sent to you.
