MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director of Central Intelligence
FROM: Director of Central Intelligence
SUBJECT: Meeting with General Bernard Rogers
1. I had a good talk with General Rogers this week. This is his
initial request for help in establishing the aggressive nature of the Soviet
force in Europe. He decided to go out and do a lot of talking which I believe
he will do well. He refrained from doing this before because he felt he fell
under the shadow of Al Haig.
2. I think we should turn our minds to what we can do to meet the
needs he specifies here and anything else that would help him out on the
stump. I once had a collection of photography of river crossing equipment.
I don't.know whether it came from satellite platform_nc not. There may be
other ways to get it. Give it some thought.
