Dear Dr. Mark:
A- M178 12&
Continuing development of new technologies. applicable to space
systems portend significant increases in the military, economic, and
political uses of space. I believe that those organizations which have
a major interest in the future of foreign or domestic space activities
would profit from increased interchange of information and ideas.
As a step in that direction, I propose that a colloquium on future
space technologies and systems be held with sponsorship by the military,
civil, and intelligence communities. I propose that the participants be
limited to about 50 and to the most knowledgeable persons involved in
future space technologies and systems. The colloquium will be held for
two to three days in May or June at a codeword level of classification.
I offer the facilities of the CIA building for the meeting.
I believe that the colloquium would benefit significantly from
s onsorshi at a senior level, and I request that you join
and me as sponsors. Our primary contribution will be to
encourage participation by the best people within our respective
communities. We should also meet at least once to provide overall
guidance for the planning, and each of us should attend at least part
of the colloquium itself.
and of the
Space Systems Division of are developing the p ans for t e colloquium
and will be in touch with you.
Sincerely,
%s/ R. R., Inman
