I want you to know that I am well aware of the excellent
analysis that has been done by the DCI's Science and Technology
Advisory Panel on the subject of the SAFE system. We are
indebted to all members of h panel but. in particular, I want
to recognize the work of I Iwho was paramount within
STAP in analyzing SAFE, n ,U course, am mindful of your own
personal and important role. The initial conclusions of STAP
were highly controversial, but your continuing analysis and
persistence convinced most that your conclusions were correct.
Recently a number of significant changes have been made within
the Intelligence Community and at the contractor, and I believe
that these changes.will eventually result in a highly effective
product.
Thank you again for assistance to the Intelligence Community,
and I look forward to our continuing association.
