This will confirm receipt of your letter dated
September 15 expressing concern about the location of some
of our chanceries abroad.
I have asked the Department's Office of Foreign
Buildings, together with the Office of Security, to take a
careful look at the locations of these chanceries. Should
they be vulnerable to technical compromise, you may be
sure we will do what is necessary to correct the
situation.
After our review has been completed, we will get back
to you with our findings.
