Dear
STAT
STAT
I am most grateful to you for visiting us on October thirteenth.
I know how difficult it must have been for you to spare us a full
day of your time during this busy season on campus. I hope you
enjoyed and profited from your visit as much as I and my staff did
by having you as our guest. Personally, I found the morning dis-
cussion with you and your colleagues both stimulating and helpful
and I regret that, due to a suddenly-called meeting of the National
Security Council, I was unable to join you for the wrap-up session
at the end of the day. however, has passed to me very STAT
useful comments that were received from the group at that session.
If you have any post-visit reflections on what was discussed
here, I would appreciate receiving them. Meantime, I am moving
to take advantage of what we learned from you and your colleagues,
including the suggestions for specific actions which you left
behind. I am convinced that, working together, the Intelligence
Community and the institutions of higher education in the United
States can do much to enhance our nation's security.
I wish you the very best for the future.
Sincerely,
William J. Casey
Director of Central Intelligence
