1. Action Requested: Sign the attached letter declining a debate
on the role of the CIA.
2. Background: The Yale Political Union has invited you to keynote
a debate on the role of the CIA, to take place in the spring. The opposing
keynoter and the debaters are unnamed, which could expose you unnecessarily
to the likes of Morton Halperin or others of his ilk who make a practice
of participating in such debates.
3. Recommendation: That you decline this invitation by signing the
