Dear Mr. Casey:
The Eighth Annual National Convention of the
Association of Former Intelligence Officers (AFIO)
will be held on 1 and 2 October 1982 at the Spring-
field Hilton Hotel, Springfield, Virginia. In the
absence of our President, Jack Maury, I am extend-
ing on behalf of AFIO an invitation for you and Mrs.
Casey to be our guests for cocktails and dinner at
the Convention banquet on Saturday, 2 October.
Cocktails will be served.at 6:30 p.m., and the
banquet will begin at 8:00 p.m.
Retired Admiral Bobby Inman has tentatively
agreed to be our banquet speaker.
I am enclosing a copy of the Convention an-
nouncement which contains the broad schedule of
planned events, including a listing of our panelists
and guest speakers confirmed to date. We expect to
have an interesting program and very much hope that
you both can join us at the Saturday banquet and at
any of the other public sessions which may interest
you. For planning purposes, we would appreciate
receiving an early response.
We include the note that our Convention is
being held in accordance with Department of Defense
standards of conduct and that our program has been
approved by the Office of Assistant Secretary of
Defense (Public Affairs).
