Approved For Release 2007/03/07: CIA-RDP83M00914R002900030010-1 Approved For Release 2007/03/07: CIA-RDP83M00914R002900030010-1 Approved For Release 2007/03/g~(~RDP83M00914R002900030010-1 DDS&T WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE DCI WEEK OF 16 JULY IN GENERAL Conference on Insurgency and Terrorism NPIC sponsored an Imagery Conference on Insurgency and Terrorism, the first of its kind and designed to acquaint the attendees with the capabilities and limitations of imagery analysts' ability to detect and evaluate insurgent and terrorist activities. Some 70 intelligence analysts representing DIA, CIA, NSA, DOE, FICEURLANT (Navy's European and Atlantic Fleet Intelligence Center), the Secret Service, the Rapid Deployment Joint Task Force, the Joint Special Operations Center, Fort Bragg, Air Force Special Investigations, Army's Intelligence Threat Analysis Center and the Naval Investigative Service attended. The session started with an overview of NPIC followed by special brief- ings on the t e and terrorist training facilities. The participants were afforded the opportunity to meet with NPIC area analysts to discuss specific items of interest. Mr. Hineman returns to the office from his two weeks' TDY on 19 July 1982. Nicaraguan Imagery Analysis Report. We've attached as an example of the special reports prepared by the National Photographic Interpretation Center, one titled "Nicaragua Since the Revolution: An Imagery Analysis of the Military Buildup Since 1979". These are prepared on an ad hoc basis either at the request of intelligence users in the community or on the initiative of analysts in NPIC.
