-OGI attended the first meeting of the Task Force on Diplomatic Initiatives of the
President's Working Group on Drue Supply Reduction.
-At the request of the NIO, NESA will draft a paper on potential regional reactions to a
possible U.S. Navy exercise in Libyan-claimed waters.
-OGI is preparing an unclassified paper on terrorist attacks against U.S. businessmen for
StRtP.
National Intelligence Council
-A joint NIO/DDI statement on Soviet economic problems was provided to Under
Secretary of State Buckley and Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Leland.
-VC/NIC obtained a summary from PFIAB member Weiss of the latter's discussions with
intelligence producers and consumers on the adequacy of intelligence production.
-Political-Military Advisory Panel members will meet here during 10-11 June to review
the NIC estimates program, the DDI Research Plan, and current intelligence topics and
projects on the Middle East and the U.S.S.R.
Personnel
-Currently coordinating transmittal letter from you to the four Congressional
Committees and OMB on the pay compensation study.
General Counsel
-Attorney General approval was obtained on 5 June to conduct a physical search abroad
involving a U.S. person believed to be a foreign agent.
-Senate action on the Identities legislation is expected this week.
-Senate action on John McMahon's nomination to be DDCI is expected early this week.

Executive Committee Activities
-Executive Committee approved (a) policy guidelines for, cover after separation pending
venting those guidelines with field personnel, and (b) procedures for senior management
