SUBJECT Project Proposal for the Development of an
ODP Contractor Information Data Base
1. We are pleased to submit for your; approval a project
proposal for the development of an ODP Contractor Information
data base system.
2. We estimate our costs for developing this system to
be $1,530 in manpower and $1,200 in machine cost. Please
note that you must ensure that the data file associated with
this system is in compliance with the Privacy Act.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
The Security Officer for the Office of Data Processing
(SO/ODP) has requested that a data base system for the
management of ODP contractor information be established.
This contractor information is currently maintained manually
on 3xS cards.
It is the responsibility of the SO/ODP to insure that
the data base complies with the Privacy Act of 1974.
2.0 USER REQUIREMENTS
The purpose of this database is to provide interactive
retrieval far contractor data pertaining to contractor's
employer, office assigned, task assigned, badge indicators,
codeward clearances held, badge renewal date, etc.
The SO/ODP will be able to query and update the data-
base information via Delta Data terminal. The SO/ODP will
also be able to generate reports from the database either
displayed online on the terminal or printed affline in the
Buffing Computer Center.
3.0 PROPOSED SYSTEM
3.1 System Software
The contractor information will be maintained on
the VM system, using the Rapid Access Management Infor-
mation System (RAMIS) software.
3.2 Application Software
VM EXEC programs and CAMEXEC formatted menus will
be used to aid the SO/ODP in updating the contractor
information.
RAMIS catalogued procedures will be used to display
formatted reports. The structure of the RAMIS data file
which will reflect the contractor information .appears in
Appendix A of this project proposal.
3.3 Input
One menu to initially add the contractor data
to the RAMIS data base. See Figure 1.
One menu to change existing contractor data an
the RAMIE data base. See Figure 2.

3.4 Output

These reports will be generated from RAMIS catalogued
procedures. Each report can either be displayed online

To demonstrate that the contractar system meets all
reguirements, each standard report and update procedures
listed in this project proposal will be demonstrated to
the customer.
~'he contractor system will be available to the
SO/ODD' during the project's final week to further
interrogate the system for validity.
4.2 ~'rainin~
Tong with the demonstrations of all standard
procedures, a user's guide for the contractar system
will be provided.
,~ period of one week after acceptance testing will
be allocated for user training. During this period, the
user s are urged to familiarize themselves with the'system.
The OIDP/Applications specialist will be available during
this time to answer any questions about the system that
may arise.
It is also recommended that the users take a one
week.ODP course "RAMIS Report Writing and Records
Management" to became proficient in -ad hoc report
producing and maintenance of this system.
DELIVERABLES
- A contractor security file RAMTS data base (uninitialized)
established on. customer's VM minidisk.
- A~.1 EXEC, RAMIS, CAMEXEC procedures and any other
programs developed far use with the contractor data
base, to be established on customer's minidisk.
