1. The Office of Data Processiztg has ao: leted a
careful review of the level and bre4dth of responsibilities
associated with the mission and franc ions of the Consoli .. .
SAFE Project's senior management positions. Completion o
this review has reinforced our belie that because of the
change in scope, effect, and complexity of the SAFE Project
these positions are now at grade leVels below similar Agea c;,
positions with comparable responsibilities Therefore,
these positions should be upgraded In aceoldaLice with the
action requested in the attached foil 261c.
2. It should be noted that the incurbents of thews
positions serve in dual roles, as managers of the interagencT
SAFE Project and as managers of Spso:- al Projects, ODP. Othei
senior managers for the SAFE Pro jeclt are provided by DIA.
