Dear Sirs:
I am writing on behalf of the Steering Committee for the 1980 Government
Microcircuits Applications Conference (GOMAC) and would like to extend an
invitation to your organization to take part in our activities. GOMAC
conferences are designed to present the state of the art developments and
applications of microcircuits by government agencies and their contractors
to the government technical community. These disclosures are usually well
in advance of available literature and attendees often find applications
presented that are applicable to their own needs.
We would welcome your attendance at these conferences either to hear or
present papers and would like especially to invite you to participate in
organizing and sponsoring these conferences. If you would like to send a
representative to our next steering committee meeting, please feel free to
call me on (301) 443-6110 for information as to the exact location and time.
I am enclosing some general information brochures and a copy of our final
call for papers to illustrate the scope and areas of interest for our con-
ferences. As can be seen from the listing, we cover considerably more than
microcomputers which are Implicitly included in most microcircuit applica-
tions today. If you would like a sample copy of the 1978 Proceedings, I
will be happy to send you a copy.
Sincerely yours,
Richard G. Cummings, Chairman

tained and include any illustrations necessary for clarification.
The 35-word abstract. suitable for publication in a program, should be typed on a separate sheet. It shall in-
clude the unclassified tale, author's name. affiliation. complete address, and telephone number.
Summaries (original and ten copies) should be typed on one side, in a double-spaced format. The heading
shall include unclassified title, security classification of the paper, agency sponsorship, contract number,
author's name, affiliation. complete address, and telephone number. Only the author's name and paper title
need be placed on each subsequent page headrnq.
Authors of papers selected for presentation at the Conference will be asked to prepare approximately
2000-word, illustrated condensations for inclusion in Conference Digests. Two editions will be published: an
unclassified volume, available at the Conference. arc a classified volume which will be distributed by mail to
qualified recipients.
Papers with classification up to and including Confidential may be presented at the classified session of the
Conference. Attendance of the classified session will be limited to U.S. citizens and immigrant aliens with
the requisite clearance and certified need-to-know. Details concerning conditions for attendance will be
announced in the program.

illustrations suitable for publication must be received by September 1, 1980.
Paper Awards to be presented are: Outstanding Paper of the Conference (award based on
audience evaluations of the papers in the daytime sessions), one or more Meritorious Paper
awards for the runners-up; and, for the first time at GOMAC, Outstanding Paper of the
Poster Session.
Poster Session: Because of the three-day time frame of the Conference, only a limited number
of papers can be accorded a regular verbal presentation. However, in order to better fulfill the
GOMAC charter, an evening Poster Session will accommodate additional papers. The authors
of rri se papers will be on hand to discuss their work and answer questions. The written
p i-rs accompanying these poster presentations will be published in the Conference Digest.

Activities
Through the cooperation of a number of U.S.
Government agencies, universities, and industry,
GOMAC is an efficient means to promote the intern
change of science and technology R&D among aciei
States.
.
"
The Conference programs reflect a blend of infor
mation which has recently been or soon will be
published in U.S. Government and/or IR&D reports,
as well as technical papers covering developmental/
application advancements. GOMAC serves as a
catalyst in the dissemination of useful information
resulting from literally hundreds of programs spon?'
Bored by U.S. Government agencies.
An especially rewarding aspect of GOMAC is that it
provides a preview of many findings that have been
extremely useful to U.S Government agencies and to
civilian Pconnmv thrniinh tarhnolryy transfer. F'r"
