(U) We prepared a response to a FY---79 budget issue. -171ra
OMB and Intelligence .'ommunity Budget Examiners recommended
a 31% reduction in the number of computer terminals planned
by 01W for FY--79. This would reduce the number planned from
161 to 111.
CI L1IA Building Collocation Study (U)
(U) Management Staff prepared a paper on the possible _A0P
benefits of CIA./bIA collocation at Langley. This paper was
requested by the Office of Lo is tics as additional information
for a DCI-tasked study.
Support to Office of Finance (U)
(U) GAS -- General Accounting System. The General Lodger
?lonthly 'Update program was changed to increase the allowable
number of obligation Reference :lumbers (ORU's) for any employee
from 100 to 300. All Quarterly reports were produced but
were delayed by the Fiscal Year-'nd Closing.

(U) IPSLOG - Information Privacy Staff .og. j`ze request to
automate the IPSLOG has been completed. Approximately 13OU
person hours and $11,000 in computer cost were expended in
this effort. The IPS:.G system is supported by GD4S.

(C) CIA CAMS project personnel received a demonstration of
DIA' s ..dvanced Imagery Requirements and !-xploitation System
(AIRES) this week. DIA's Sperry-Rand dual screen terminal
was most impressive. :' IRES is scheduled to achieve initial
operating capability in January 1978. t this time, the
computer-to--computer interface between CMS and AIRES through
the}atex switch will be activated.

(U) ADSTAR site planning data was turned over to office of
Logistics. A copy of the package was given to 0

Central Reference's ADSTAR Requirements Officer.
SID (U)
(U) meetings are in progress between Office of General r`0unsel 25X1A
and the other Agency components involved in RAPID to put to-
gether a chronology of the PAPID project.
TADS (U)
(U) An update to the June 1977 development schedule was
received from the contractor this week. '.'his revised schedule
does not affect Cie completion date of 30 June 1978. However, 25X1A
any slips in this new schedule may delay delivery. As a
result of this scheduling, the third Critical Design -Review
will be held on 2 r ecerber rather than 11 November 1977. -
S3 Software Problem Fixed (U)
(U) On 1 Toveer, emergency maintenance was applied to the
JES3 system to correct the problems experienced with JCL
references to Generation Data Groups (see weekly Report dated
21 October 1977). The applied maintenance should correct all
of the known problems which have been responsible for the
extensive down time on the JES3 batch system during the past
two weeks. -
FRS Gearing +J for Congressional Budget (U)
(U) ODP began loading data into the FRS data base for the
Congressional Budget cycle on 27 October. This exercise
will continue through 4 iovember. Worksheets for the
Directorate budget offices should be produced by 7 ovenber.
At that time budget officers can be in working with the data
through their online terminals.

(U) A three day course, EDP orientation, was completed by
24 students ODP conducted the ('IA portion of OiR; s survey
of intelligence infor ating ny tems for personnel fro the
Intelligence Community.
