This system will replace the current ASP scheduling system. We have been testing the JES3 system in isolated and test-production modes over the past several months. Several Technotes and a JES3 User Requirements Manual have been published describing this system, its impact on user jobs, and the steps users must take to ensure proper execution of their jobs under a JTIS3 environment. We are confident that all user applications will run successfully in the JE53 environment if the published guidelines are followed. We have notified all ADP Control officers by memorandum and asked them to ensure that their offices have full. tested their batch applications under this new system. PY-79 Butt Csaz~aletecl The PY-79 03 Zero-Base Budget was completed and sub- mitted to the DDA Budget Staff and to the Com troller. There are 43 decision packages in the ODP budget. STATINTL Information Re nested for EAG Pro ect Review All AD? Control Officers have been requested to provide information for the EAG Project Review of major ADP projects. This is a follow-up to a 'd 5S made for one Office in each Directorate. This outage will, affect both the CC-47 Computer Center and the DATEX switching station which carries all messages to and from CAMS. We are investigating the various possibilities for providing some level of support. The Soon-Allen Applied Research Study Tear, presented the results of its SAFE/ADISS Commonality Study to the Intel- ligence Research and Development Council on 17 August 1977. The presentation was generally well received with the excep-, tio.n of the organizational structure recommended. ADSTAR Members of the Source Evaluation Board (SLE) visited the Harris and Ragen Companies, offerors of ADSTAR Phase I pro- posals. An amendment (number 4) to the ADSTAR RFP was issued to divide the deliverables into three separate packages. The offerors have been asked to price each package separately. Su_ rtto Office of Geoc ra hp is & _Cartograg hic Research CARTDEV - Developmental support to the Cartographic Division. Testing of the Engineering Topographic Laboratory. (ETL) line smoothing subroutine indicates that it will ful- fill OCCR's requirements. The program will support OCGR's effort in digitizing the 200 mile fishing limit for the Law of the Sea Project. STATINTL Minicomputer RFP. We are continuing our technical support to the OGCR Agricultural team in their generation of an RFP for the acquisition of a minicomputer based Meteoro?? logical, Agronomical., Geographic Analysis System (MACAS). We have completed all ODP work associated with interfacing`SACS with existing Security and Personnel ADP systems. This effort required 18 months to complete and cost approximately $184K for personnel and computer time. Suozt__to .Office of Finance FRS - Financial Resource System. We continued our sup- port of the Agency's PY--79 O24B Budget Exercise by producing final reports for the Directorates on 15 August. These reports accompanied the Zero-Base Budgeting (ZBB) narratives prepared by the Offices and the Directorates for each decision unit. Additional reports requested by the Office of the Comptroller are planned for production during the next two weeks. They will be part of the 's FY--79 budget submission due in O!B by mid September.
