RUNWAY AT BEIRUT INTERNATIONAL AIRFIELD IS APPARENTLY
OPERATIONAL FOR C-130 TYPE TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT.
2. (S/D) REMARKS: AT LEAST SEVEN IMPACT CRATERS IN THE MIDDLE OF
THE NORTH SOUTH RUNWAY HAVE BEEN REPAIRED. THE
NORTHEAST/SOUTHWEST RUNWAY REMAINS NONOPERATIONAL DUE TO
CRATERING. SEGMENTS OF THE NORTH/.SOUTH AND NORTHEAST/SOUTHWEST
PARALLEL TAXIWAYS REMAIN USABLE BY SMALL AIRCRAFT. NO
ADDITIONAL DAMAGE TO THE RUNWAYS OR TAXIWAYS HAS OCCURRED SINCE
