1. (SWN) SIGNIFICANCE: THE SECOND UNIT OF THE TYPHOON-CLASS
NUCLEAR-POWERED BALLISTIC MISSILE SUBMARINE (SSBN) HAS BEEN
ROLLED OUT.
2. (SWN) REMARKS : THE SECOND UNIT OF THE TYPHOON-CLASS SSBN IS IN
THE LAUNCH DOCK AND IS BEING MANEUVERED JUST OUTSIDE OF THE
BASIN BY AT LEAST THREE TUGS AT THE SHIPYARD. MOST OF THE
MISSILE BAY OF THE SSBN IS VISIBLE; HOWEVER, DETAILS OF THE
STERN PORTION Of THE SSBN INCLUDING THE SAIL ARE OBSCURED BY
ARCH-ROOFED PANELS.
WHAT APPEARED TO BE THE FORWARD SECTION OF THE 25X1
(SWN) INITIAL LAUNCH PREPARATIONS FOR A TYPHOON WERE OBSERVED
SSBN WAS DISCERNIBLE IN TILE LAUNCH DOCK 2oX1
