Approved For Release 2007/04/02 : CIA-RD E00951 8000100080004-5 THE DIRECTOR OF CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE National Intelligence Council 6 August 1982 STAT STAT I would have talked to you in person but you were on leave today and I will be on leave next. week. I would like to request that anything concerning East Asia that comes into CIA through the Executive Registry and your office for action or distribution elsewhere in CIA be routed through me or if appropriate sent to me as a drop copy. Although I am fairly confident that I am aware of everything that the DCI area or OEA is doing for and with other agencies regarding East Asia matters, I have much less confidence about OSWR and DDS&T. Recently I have come upon a whole series of TTAC and COMEX/CHINEX interactions outside of CIA that I knew nothing about. The easiest way to remedy tHs problem is to send me copies of incoming and outcoming material. -I will insert myself into the process if I think it is necessary, but in most cases I will just note the information so that I can respond intel- ligently when State, NSC, White House, and DoD ask me about the issue.
