'I. DCI/DDCI-Assigned Tasks
16 July 1982
-- NIO/NESA continued to provide talking points for the DCI on the
Lebanese crisis and the Iran-Iraq war, and he prepared a memorandum for
the DCI describing the worst-case view of the Iran-Iraq conflict.
-- NIO/Economics prepared talking points for the DCI for the NSC
meeting on US-West European relations.
II. Other Activities
-- NIO/EA testified on Taiwan's military needs before the House
Foreign Affairs subcommittee on Asian and Pacific Affairs. He also
briefed a delegation of Senate staffers en route to Beijing.
-- C/NIC attended a meeting of the Defense Policy Board today.
-- Acting NIO/USSR-EE attended a session at CSIS on their project
concerning the USSR in the 1980s.
-- NIO/GPF briefed Gen. Stilwell (,DVSD/Policy) ~n 15 July on the
GPF estimates program. Gen. Stirtell showed particular interest in
mi litary estimates on the Far East. A similar briefing is being given
to (aen. kichardson (Army DCOS/Operations) today.

-- NIO/NESA participated in an~interagency meeting at State to
examine future US policy options on the Palestinian question and the
autonomy talks.
