RBSTRACT This memo concerns the actions of the ad hoc committee established during the March "war scare". Mr. ~ described the various papers pre ared b this committee which he headed. Reassessment of Soviet Intentions for the y Nest 60 Days (16 March '48), Possibility of Direct Soviet Military Action Dur- ing 1948 (ORE 22-48), ORE 58-48, and appendices to 58-48. He then the procedures followed in goes into producing these apers and the comments made by the AF on ORE 58-48 and ORE 22-4$.
