1. Establishment of the Office of National Estimates
The Office of National Estimates was established by
General Order 37, dated 13 November 1950, announcing the
.appointment of Dr. William L. Langer as Assistant Director for
National Estimates.
2, Mission
The Assistant Director for National Estimates is
charged with the production of national intelligence estimates
and with assisting the Director of Central Intelligence in the
coordination of intelligence production activities relating to
the national security.
