DIRE(:1'OR OF CENTRAL :INTELLIGENCE DIRECTIVE 3/3 SCIENTIFIC INTELLIGENCE order to achieve coordination in the production of scientificIintelli gence, novr unallocated under NSCID No. 3, a permanent inte_rdepartnental Scientific Intelligence Committee is hereby established to plan, support and coordinate the production of scientific intelligence as it affects the national security. Pursuant to the provisions of paragraph 3 of NSCID No 3 d i I 1. 'This Scientific,Intclligcncc Committee shall act under the Chairmanship of a representative of CIA and shall be composed of designated representatives from CIA (Chairman), Department of State, Dcpartncnt of the Array. Departncnt of the Navy, Dcpa~tncnt of the Air Force, and Atonic.Encrgy Commission, and such other ad hoc members as nay be determined necessary by the regular corr.ittce r;cmbcrs. In order to maintain continuity and stability, each dc- p4rtnent and agency mentioned above vill designate a regular member and, if dcsircd,an alternate by transmitting nanes and titlcs`to the Director of Ccntral.Intclligcncc? This action 17ill not preclude the attendance at.connittee meetings of such additional persons as may be technically-and othcrr,ise qualified to discuss a particular subject undcr-.considcration by the committee, 2. The Scientific Intclligcncc Committee trill establish its methods of procedure. 3.
