MEMORANDUM BY THE CHAIRMAN, SANACC

MEMORANDUM FOR THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, SANACC :
I enclose a memorandum from Assistant Secretary of State
George V. Allen, recommending that in view of the action of the
National Security Council in NSC 43 the SANACC Subcommittee for
Special Studies and Evaluations be dissolved. Paragraph 5 of
the aforementioned NSC directive provides that "the State-Army-
Navy-Air Force Coordinating Subcommittee for Special Studies
and Evaluations shall be discontinued".
I suggest, therefore, that you arrange for the dissolution
of this Subcommittee and for the transfer, as requested, to the
Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs of all such
relevant papers and files of the Subcommittee as may be required.
