' Fire Prevention/Safety ` Traffic Safety/Accident Prevention ' Physical Rehabilitation Alcoholism The award, consisting of a plaque and a $2,500 honorarium, will be presented at a ceremony to be held in the Fall of 1980. Attached are copies of the announcement and a letter from the President of GEICO to agency heads which invttes.nominations. Instructions for preparing and submitting nominations and other details are contained in the announcement. .The Office of Personnel Management assisted GEICO in the development of this awards program. We urge that you give this matter full publicity so that deserving employees may be considered for this honor. Through this association, we have had the pleasure of getting to know many dedicated Government professionals. Because we believe that high achievement and dedication should be recognized publicly, and as an expression of our respect for and commitment to Government employees, we have established the GEICO Public Service Award. Four $2,500 awards will be granted to winners selected by a committee of distinguished persons from academe, and public, .private, and employee organizations. In sponsoring and structuring this awards program, GEICO has worked closely with the Office of Personnel Management to assure that the awards support and compliment existing recognition systems. The attached brochure explains the program in more detail.
