SUBJECT: Office of Security Significant Activities
Week of 1 "ovenber 1979 (U)

1. This nexeorand m is for information only. (U)
2. The activities of the Office of Security during the
week of 1 - 7 November 1979 were highlighted by the following
items:
a. A representative of this Office presented
a security travel briefing to a delegation of
seven Congresswomen headed by Congresswoman
Elisabeth Holtzman. The delegation, plus
accompanying Congressional staff Members,
is departin for a survey of the Cambodian
situation. U)
c. On I Hovenbeer, a representative of
the Office presented a three-hour audio throat
briefing to NSA's Senior Cryptological Group.
On 5 November, a similar briefing was presented
to a group of Defense attaches. (C)
d. On 1 November, a security audit inspection
of the Office of General Counsel was completed. (U)

g. The Security Officers Training Class
began on S November and will conclude on 21 December.
There are 26 attendees in the class, 4 of whom
are Technical Security Officers who will attend
only the first portion of the. class. The remaining
attendees were selected from a group of 211 appli-
cants. Not only was the staffing requirement not,
but also the equal opportunity goal was realized.
As a matter of interest, the screening and pro-
cessing machinery is continuing and the "pipeline
is being filled in anticipation of a class in the
spring of 19d0. (C)
