1. Director of Security Comments
The Director of Security commented that recent events
have created significant additional demands on the
Office, both in the personnel security area as well as
physical security activities. Requests for personnel
security clearances will continue at a high level and
there is increasing concern for the total applicant
processing time, of which security processing is a
significant part. In order to accommodate this heavy
influx of requests as well as reduce processing time,
increased efficiency on everyone's part, both at headquarters
and in the field, will be required. Similarly, in the
physical security area, numerous activities are under
way to assess our security posture, both domestically,
and overseas to insure the procedures and equipment are
effective and timely. He asked that each employee look
for new and better ways to accomplish these tasks more
efficiently and productively. (U)
2. T.O. Increase - FY81
Mr. Gambino announced that a recent decision by the DDCI
has authorized 14 additional positions for the Office of
Security effective FY81. The allocation of these positions
to Security reflect the continued emphasis on increased
security protection both in the personnel and physical
security areas. (C)
3. New PARC Chairman
Mr Gambino announced that
the Chairman, Professional Applicant Review Committee.

4. Quality Step Increases (C)
25X1A has been awarded a Quality Step
Increase in recognition of his sustained su erior
performance while assigned to the

in recognition of her excellent performance while
assigned to the Intelligence Community Staff.
5. Retirements (C)
Although these retirements have previously been announced,
Mr. Gambino reflected on the loss to the Office of a
large group of seasoned and experienced. Security employees
and expressed his appreciation for their years of contribution.
All will retire on or before 11 January 1980.
