l want to express my appreciation for the excellent
job' which you did in connection with our Cornerstone Ceremony on
3 November. I was very pleased with the way the Ceremony was carried,
out. No hitches developed., and, everything went off smoothly. This
success attests to the effective and painstaking way In which you
organized the entire effort, which is the more cc enable in view of
the relatively short notice you, were given in which to make a the

Although I realize many people contributed to the
success of the occasion, I would like to mention a few =nbera of
your staff whose efforts were particularly noteworthy. I understand
that was largely rasponeible for the arrangements
with the con raac or, is General Services Administration, end the
others who had the most to do with the preparation of the Site for
the Ceremony. The setting was very suitably arranged and the well-
organized layout contributed in . reat measure to the orderly progress
of the Ceremony. did a most effective job of orgmn-
izing the transportation facilities. I was pleased with the way the
unexpectedly large crowd moved in and out of the Ceremony Site in such
short order and without confusion. also did a STAT
splendid job in meeting the printing req, remen a on ort notice. I
am told *too tha on your staff' provided invaluable
assistance in -ny ways helping you coordinate the entire effort.

Ccmandation-Cornerstene Ceremony
I want to co=end you for the fine work you and your
staff did in handling the guest invitations and protocol arrangements
for our Cornerstone Ceremony on 3 November.
The problem of working out the priorities of seating
and the other arrangements was perhaps the most delicate phase of the
Ceremony arrangements. It required careful attention to detail to
set up and maintain the correct seating order and avoid giving offense
to anyone despite the many acceptances and cancellations which forced
constant pes up to the last minute.,
Your painstaking performance contributed very STAT
materially to the success of the Ceremony and I am most appreciative.
Please convey my special thanks to
understand he put in many hours of .hard work and provided strong
aistsnce to you in numerous wags.
Signed
