SUBJECT : Report of Cable Secretariat Operations 1-30
June 1962
1. CABLES PROCESSED
A. CIA cables totaled 16, 499 IN cables, 6, 906 OUT cables, 1, 297
TD's and 826 miscellaneous items for a total of 25, 528 work
items. This represents an increase of 1, 393 or 6% more than
the 1961 monthly average of 24, 135 work items.
B. Non-CIA cables totaled 12, 408, an increase of 36 or . 002% more
than the 12, 372 monthly average for 1961. The June 1962 total is
871 or 8% more than May 1962.
C. The combined work units of CIA and non-CIA Cable Secretariat
including miscellaneous and service requests totaled 34, 571
items or 1, 286 items each 24 hour day including Saturdays and
Sundays.
D. One thousand four hundred seventy-two (1, 472) cables or 4% of
all cables processed (CIA and non-CIA) were furnished to the
Director as compared to 1, 208 or 5% for May 1962.
2. PERSONNEL
We gained two clerks and lost two clerks in June 1962. One trans-
ferred t:o SR and one resigned to accept a position in private industry.
Therefore, we are still two persons short of our ceiling of ^ persons. 25X1A
