Cables Processed s. The Cable Secretariat reproduced and dissernixtated 14, 435 1N cables, 5, 648 dUT cables. i, 170 TD's and 870 miscellaneous items for a total of 22.1213 work iterxzs during ?ctober 1960. This represeats an increase of 4, 605 items or 2b~ more than the 1959 monthly average of 17, 515. This is the third straight month that the total v+vc~rk items have been at an all time high. You will notice that this mcsnths tcatai traffic exceeds anything we have ever done in the history of the Cable Secretariat. Our ability to move this amount of traffic during the past three months was due in great part to shard-working, conscientious crew and in part to the Xerox Copier {914}. I believe that if we did not hsve the 914 we could not have diasemirtated this many work items with our present staff of Ea7 people. b. Cables increased 4.480 or 2q~ aver the .1959 monthly average of 15, 600 cables. The C3ctober total is 4513 or 2~ snare cables than September 19Q0 and 4, b88 or 309~- more cables than Qctober 1959. c. "TD's increased 48 or 4~, over the 1959 monthly average of 1, i2L TD's. d. We processed an average of 852 cables Monday through Friday. 613 ran Saturday and 433 can Sunday. ?lease note that during August, Septcxnbe~r and October of 1959 we were larocessing an average of 6$8 cables Monday through Friday, 435 on Saturday and 94 on Sunday. Taking the same three months in 1960, v~+e are processing an average of 83b cables .far an increase of 148 or 6'~L on Monday through Friday, 533 cabins for an increase of 140 or 25~ on Saturdays and 224 cables far an increase caf 130 or 58gt, cart S-.utdays .
