Reference is made to the unsigned memorandum, subject as above, dated 3 July 1950, which was handed to the ADSO by the ADPC .on;1 July 1950- Paragraph 10 of reference recommends that certain corrective action be taken, and in accordance therewith the following comments keyed to such recommendations are noted for. the file: Re 10.a.--It is believed that the present Chief, Communications '25X1A staff of the Communications Division as recommended by the establishment of two Special Assistant positions at the GS-15 level, which has been done. In addition thereto, steps have been taken to procure the services of as a Special Assistant at the GS- as interviewed by the ADSO and the EXO on 22 July and action was initiated on 25 July to expedite his security clearance and early on 26 July to procure the services of 25X1A as a Special Consultant to the Uhlef., om munications Division, for detail to OPC, to assist in the planning and implementation of the OPC communications program. Other candidates are also under consideration for employment in the additional Special Assistant position. -The EXO has discussed the Communications space problem with the Chief, SSS, the Acting Executive, CIA, and with f the Management Office with a view to obtaining adequate space at the earliest possible. moment. Re.lOd.--A meeting was held. between the EXO, the Chief, SSS, 0 aa: 04- A Cd of the Management Office, and Chief, Communications on 20. July with a view to e ermining the urgent and precise communications personnel require- ments. It was agreed that OSOwould make additional slots available on unvouchered funds to meet immediate requirements which are now. being established by the Management Officer.
