The influenc(- of the oscillations of the velocity in a
liquid jt,t and the densitv of the medium surrounding
a cylindrical jet, on the disintegration of the jet, is
considered theoret-ically. The method of small per-
turbations beginning with the velocity potential
equation is u*cd. The following conclusions were
derived; (a) during the oscillations of the velocity of
a liquid jet the character and the length of the wat'lls
of tht! unstable perturbations are subject to change
