1. This memorandum is for information only.
2. I am glad to report that the problem of building access for
the public Buildings Service (PBS) engineers, Messrs. Bengtson and
Gibbons, has been satisfactorily resolved. The Chief, Physical Security
Division, Office of Security, has advised this office that interim
badges are being issued to Messrs. Bengtson and Gibbons to enable them
to enter the building and move about therein without escort. Upon re-
ceipt of Personal. History Statements, the Office of Security will pro-
ceed with the necessary security investigations prior to the issuance
STATINTLof the prescribed "Visitor - No Escort" badges pursuant to Security
Notice 0 dated 10 December 1962.
3. This office is not aware of any other instances in which se-
curity limitations are restricting the activities of PBS engineers in
the Headquarters building. If any future situations of this nature
should develop, I am sure they can be promptly resolved with the Office
of Security.
