MEMORANDUM FOR: Members, CIA ADP Committee
SUBJECT Committee Meeting - 17 April 1963
1. A meeting of the CIA ADP Committee will be held in Room 6B,
OSA/DD/R, Headquarters at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 17 April 1963.
2. The purpose of this session is to review and pass upon the
recommendations of the ADP Staff for hardware to support the scienti-
fic computing needs of the DD/R and the other Deputy Directorates.
3. The DD/R has sent a memorandum to the DDS (special channels,
dated 4 April 1963) requesting priority acquisition of a scientific
computer suitable to DD/R requirements. The initial operational
capability date has been set for August 1963.
1i. The DDS has requested the CIA ADP Committee to review this
DD/R requirement and other related CIA requirements and to formalize
appropriate hardware recommendations. He has asked that the ADP
Committee give this question its immediate attention so that procure-
ment, site preparation, etc. actions can be initiated by the ADP Staff
at the earliest date.
