Humphrey and The Honorable John W. McCormack transmitting our FY 1965 report of claims paid by the Agency under the Federal Tort Claims Act of 1946. During FY 1965 Agent,,4 vehicles were Involved in 30 accidents, resulting ii laims which totalled $1200. This seems like a large number of accidents but when compared to overall Government the rate is low. GSA statistics for Government indicate 16 accidents for each million miles travelled. The CIA rate for PY 1965 is 12.9 to one. Our fleet of 1157 passenger cars, buses and trucks travelled 2, 345, 304 miles. Our claims rate this year is the lowest in a number of years. Last year we had 21 claims which totalled $4, 578. A note from the Director of Finance is attached for your information. Request two signatures. 15(7& R. L.
