As part of the continuing effort to increase the effective-
ness of the i idcareer Executive Development Course, our office
of I`raining had several discussions with bout the
possibility of developing a series of briefings on the background.

Toward the end of December. Frank informed us of his
imminent retirement and resulting inability to participate in fur-
ther development of the program. he said, however, that he had
discussed the program with you and suggested that we make con-
tact with you in order to con plete preliminary planning. Ab it now
stands the Midcareer Course officers are to visit NSA headquarters
on 16 February. If the concept of these briefings and the tentative
date meet with your approval, would one of your officers get in
touch with the Course Chairs.
