SUBJECT : Rental of Chrysler Limousine
1. In accordance with direction from the Director of Logistics,
the undersigned notified Mr. F. R. Kadie of the Chrysler Corporation,
by telephone on 19 July 1965 that Central Intelligence Agency will
not be able to lease the Imperial Crown Chrysler Limousine as had
been proposed. The reason given was disapproval by the Bureau of
the Budget using Bureau of the Budget Circular No. A-22 as the
authority.
2. Mr. Kadie advised that he had written and mailed a letter
to his New York office on Friday, 16 duly, asking that the limousine
be shipped to Washington as soon as possible. He stated he was sure
no action had been taken on his request and that he would call the
New York office and cancel it.
3. 1 expressed regret and appreciation for his efforts. It
not expected that any terminating cost will arise.
