Approved For Release 2003(Q/ CIA-RDP84-00780R0015O0070b054 ' I L E MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD: SUBJECT: Budget Hearing on the Career Training Program 1. At 1000 hours on Tuesday, 25 October, I attended a budget briefing on the Career Training Program. Those in attendance were 2. egan the briefing by giving the background history of the CT Program and statistics bringing us up to our present figure of 275 new trainees each year. en gave a thorough explanation of the Training Program including the timing of the three classes given each year and the programs offered for DD/I, DD/S, and DD/P personnel. The fact that language has been made more imperative and that the DD/P program has been stretched out to two years was made quite clear. 3 . seemed to be quite satisfied with the Program. In fact, he stated that he thought it was a most desirable way of bringing on board and training our leaders of the future. There were several questions with regard to the number of employees on board, and it became obvious that the money budgeted for FY 67 is short by the amount required for increasing the average number of employees on duty in the Program from as the figure used for average on-board strength in the original FY 1967 budget, but after the increase of I land increasing the CT Program for DD/P trainees from one to two years the adjusted average on-board strength has become 0 O/PPB will have to make an adjustment to allocate additional funds to the CT Program to cover the additional eemployees . The [=~udgeted for in FY 68 appears to be adequate. 4. I believe the briefing was quite satisfactory and do not anticipate any budget problems with the CT Programs SPA/DDS prgyg~i g ase 2003/05/05 CIA-RDkP84-007808 500070005-6 - DD/S Chrono 25X1 25X1 25X1
