Appro d For Release 2003/05/05 : CIA-RDP84-0078OR00340007000
20 May 1970
From the 39 proposed regs in process (Tab A),
we appear to be more current than ever before.
The only ones I consider delir cent are jobs
5838 and 5839 on first page that DD/P did not authenti-
cate in a month and a half after they have already co-
ordinated on it.

Attached is RCB's latest report on

pretty good except for a few but we
don't have any real old ones any more.

MEMORANDUM FOR: Mr. Coffey
The attached reports, Tabs A and B, show the status of jobs out
for coordination, information, and authentication on 15 May 1970, and
the total number of jobs processed by month during the period
1 November 1969 through 30 April 1970. (Our last report was through
31 October 1969.)
The main purpose of Tab A is to show responsiveness on the part
of the coordinators and, to show those cases held in DDS and DDP for
authentication on 15 May 1970. This data, of course, changes daily,
but it is representative of the time it takes the coordinators and
the authenticators to process proposals through their offices. Since
authentication should be accomplished within a minimum of time, three
to five days, RCB has set no time limits on this phase of the process.
However, in the interest of speeding up the coordination process, RCB
does establish realistic response time for the coordinators. Normally,
the more complicated the job, the longer the time allowed. Most of the
coordinators attempt to comply with this requirement, but, failing to
do so, request additional time.
Tab B is intended to bring you up to date on the total number
of jobs being processed. You will note that our back log is slowly
diminishing; but at this time it is too early to determine what the
normal case load will be. On 1 October 1969, RCB had a total of 184
active jobs. Today we have 124. RCB continues to receive an average
of one new job per workday.
Per your instructions we have forwarded copies of Tab A to the
Chief, OPSER, and the SSA-DDS.
