On 8 November 1980 was offered a direct transfer
as a P-3 monitor from Athens to cos a and he accepted the offer. He
was advised of the pending-wage and' classification survey to be.con-
ducted at Nicosia and the possible results of the survey. The travel
authorization will cover himself, his dependents, HHE and vehicle,Athens
to Nicosia, including any customs duties on normal items.
I irequested reconsideration of his local hire status
since he feels s- c rcumstances should warrant TCN status. Specifi-
cally, he was an independent businessman in his country of birth, Sudan,
when his business was confiscated by the Nimeiry government. In April
1970, he and his family were presented with air tickets and told to
leave the country. The obly option for-him under these circumstances-
...was to seek'refuge in-Cyprus, the country of his parents. Subsequently,
in mid-1971 he was accepted as a .Cypriot and granted citizenship. He
