On .8 November 19801 was advised that his position
was to be abolished 31 January 1981 and his services would no Jon er
be required. A written notice to this effect was signed byl
Since.his service is sufficient to qualify for DSR, he opted
for retirement and the associated severance pay including loss of
career compensation.
I ishes to emigrate to the United States and has
requested all possible assistance from FBIS to obtain the required
visa. He was advised that FBIS will do whatever it can to achieve this
..goal with the warning that the consular service and the Immigration and
'Naturalization Service are the government elements responsible in this
-area.
On travel he is entitled to the movement of his dependents, HHE,
and vehicle from Athens to Nicosia and could utilize, on a reconstructed
basis, this entitlement if he went to another area. He asked that his
son's planned travel to the U.S. for educational purposes in December
1980 be included.in this authorization. He was advised this was not
connected with his retirement travel but that this decision will be ex-
plored in Washington.
