SUBJECT : BBC Replacement Costs
A. Monitors (see Attachment A for functional
breakdown): 130 monitors and supervisors at an
average salary of $18,480 each (average PMU salary
of X7,700 at $2.40)
B. Mana ement: Two U.S. staff operations
officers (at 25,000 each plus housing, etc)
C. Engineers/technicians: Two U.S. staff
(at $25,000 each plus housing, etc) and four
locals (at average of j7,000 each)
D. Support: One U.S. staff logistics officer
(at $25,000 plus housing, etc) and two locals at
X6,000 each)
A. Leasing of 20,000 sq ft at Y5.00 ($12.00)
per sq ft
B. Power, heating, cleaning, etc
C. Antenna field leasing
D. Building and grounds maintenance;
guard force
3. Rental of press agencies (ADN, DPA, TASS English
Russian, others as required); other ancillary costs (e.g.
VCVC circuit, paper supplies, etc)
4. Nairobi replacement (with staffing level of 4 U.~
and 15 locals) (see Attachment B for functional breakdown
